The Opera Grand Rapids Collegiate Vocal Competition provides an opportunity for the finest student vocalists being trained full-time at Greater Grand Rapids area colleges and universities to compete in a professional competition and to be recognized for excellence by a professional opera company.

Preliminary Round
April 17, 2011
7pm, Final Round public concert at the Betty Van Andel Opera Center
A panel of music professionals will judge the Final Round, which will be open to the public. Winners will be announced and prizes awarded immediately following the concert and light reception. There will be an opportunity for each participant to receive verbal feedback from the judges following the award ceremony.
Entrants must
- Be a full-time student at Aquinas College, Calvin College, Cornerstone University, Grand Rapids Community College, Grand Valley State University, Hope College or Muskegon Community College.
- Be between the ages of 17-25 on the date of the Final Round. A photocopy of your birth certificate, passport or other legal document verifying your age must be included with your application.
- Be recommended by a music professional, such as a private instructor, coach or other professor.
- Not have previously won First Prize in this competition.
